Lombok, August 7, 2018 – The 6.4 magnitude earthquake on Sunday (29/7) at 06.47 WITA and 7.0 magnitude on Sunday (5/8) at 18.46 WITA that rocked Lombok claimed hundreds of lives and severely damaged thousands of buildings. This fairly large earthquake was then followed by several aftershocks that further devastated Lombok and its surroundings.
Realizing this, PT Pasifik Satelit Nusantara as a satellite telecommunications company whose businesses operate in the Lombok area and its surroundings immediately provided assistance in the form of 4 sets of UBIQU antennas, 3 Isatphone units and post-earthquake logistics (food, drinks, medicines).
Four sets of UBIQU antennas were installed at the Mataram Media Center and three separate refugee shelters, namely in the yard of the North Lombok Regent’s Office, Bayan District Office, and Sambik Elen Village Office. Meanwhile, the Isatphones were handed over through BAKTI.
Post-earthquake logistics in the form of food, drinks and medicines were distributed through Pondok Sedekah volunteers and distributed to several refugee shelter posts: Tanjung Post, Pemenang Post and Kayangan Post.
The provision of this assistance is part of PT PSN’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a form of humanitarian solidarity and corporate social responsibility. No less importantly, this assistance is expected to raise the morale and spirit of the Lombok community who were victims of the earthquake.
