Integrated service solution for satellite-based communications system

Since 2006, PSN has provided integrated services for government agencies for disaster mitigation purposes.

PSN provides and maintains the siren system as a part of the Indonesian Tsunami Early Warning System(Ina-TEWS) by utilizing satellite as the main communication connection in situations of natural disaster

Ina-TEWS

The Indonesian Tsunami Early Warning System (Ina-TEWS) is a comprehensive and evolving system that provides public warning that can be used outdoors and is compatible with various applications designed by PSN.

The system is very flexible and is able to manage warning systems in small communities which can be expanded to large scale. This early warning system is integrated with regional and national warning systems.

Ina-TEWS provides all the functions needed to maintain the security of an information system, is responsive and can be relied on by the public to broadcast emergency response warning information expediently.

The design of the Ina-TEWS system is based on the concept of an integrated national warning system with a hierarchical management system architecture and consists of a Regional/Community Control Center and a National/Central Control Center.

Until 2015, the Indonesian Tsunami Early Warning System (Ina-TEWS) provided by PSN totalled 55 units. In addition, PSN also provides disaster dissemination services via DVB/WRS that have been installed in 261 locations. This project was held in collaboration with the Indonesia Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
